My journeys to Vienna, Berlin, Brussels and Munich are almost religious in their nature. Quite transcendental. I travel in the spirit of euphoric recall of the sex addict, or the religious pilgrim. When I am there, like Napoleon in Moscow, I cannot wait to turn around and go back home, and think never again will I come to this place, there is no point. Yet within a day or two of being back home, I am already craving to go back again.

I think my new book will be called The Destruction of my Erotic Life. Or just The Destruction of Eros. Stuttgarter Platz in Berlin almost completely wiped out. The Gurtel in Vienna almost completely wiped out. Soho in London almost completely wiped out.

A culture that has lost faith in itself. Men who have lost faith in themselves and let themselves be emasculated by women. Like a music channel that no longer has confidence to play anything more than a couple of hours of music videos during the night. It seems MTV does not play music anymore, but in Europe a lot of rivals to MTV sprang up which did what it said on the can and just played music all day. Gradually, though, they lost confidence too, and more and more of their schedules became eaten up with reality TV programmes, or teen dramas, or cartoons.

Men don't want to be sexually wild anymore. They want to show how much respect they have for women, and would not dream of ever trying to talk one up to his room, or run his hands over her body; he knows he would get arrested and lose his career, his house, and everything! What a disgrace, you tried to make love to a woman and found she did not want to! Call the police! You are now officially a sex pest! You will  be charged with "sexual assault by touching". If you touch a woman's bottom or breasts in a club now you are now announced on the news as being charged with a "sexual offence", and everyone thinks oh my god what a pervert he raped someone or tried to! Er no, in the drunken flirting environment of a club he let his hands wander down her back and on to her bottom---this now is considered a "sexual assault". Thus men have let themselves be emasculated, and we now face this crisis of masculinity ("emasculinity" more like), this disaster of Eros.

We have to be ashamed of lusting after a woman these days. It is a disgrace (we are the disgrace).
